Kerala Tragedy: Five Medical Students Die in Devastating Car-Bus Collision in Alappuzha

In a heartbreaking incident, five MBBS students from a government medical college lost their lives after their car collided with a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus in Alappuzha late Monday night. The collision occurred near Kalarcode around 10 PM, according to police reports.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the car, carrying seven individuals, was completely destroyed in the impact. “Five succumbed to their injuries. Due to the severity of the collision, the vehicle was completely mangled, and the youths had to be extracted by breaking the car,” a police official told PTI. The identities of the deceased students are yet to be confirmed.

Passengers aboard the KSRTC bus sustained minor injuries, while vehicular traffic along the road was significantly disrupted due to the accident. Emergency services worked to restore normalcy in the area.

The exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined, with authorities investigating the circumstances leading to the fatal collision. This tragedy has left the local community and the medical fraternity in mourning.
