Thiruvananthapuram: In a shocking killing spree, a 23-year-old man murdered five people, including his grandmother, uncle, aunt, teenage brother, and lover, before surrendering to the police in Kerala’s Venjarammoodu area. He also attacked his mother, who is in critical condition at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.
The accused, identified as Afan, went on a rampage, targeting his family members and lover in three different houses, police said. After committing the gruesome murders, he walked into Venjarammoodu police station and confessed to the crime. He claimed to have poisoned himself and was immediately taken to a hospital for medical attention.
Authorities are investigating the motive behind the murders, and forensic teams have been deployed to gather evidence. The brutal killings have sent shockwaves across the state, with locals expressing deep concern over the tragic incident. Police are expected to conduct further interrogations once the accused recovers.
