Bengaluru: Following reports and viral videos alleging VIP treatment for certain inmates inside Bengaluru Central Jail, Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara has announced a high-level review meeting to investigate the matter.

Addressing the media, the minister said he has taken serious note of the issue and will be personally reviewing the lapses in the prison system. “I have called a meeting of all senior officers today to review the situation. I will specifically examine the incidents involving terrorist prisoners, as some videos show individuals supplying liquor, drugs, and mobile phones inside the jail,” said Dr. Parameshwara.

The allegations surfaced after several videos reportedly showed inmates enjoying unauthorized luxuries, including access to contraband substances and communication devices.
