Srinagar: Javed Qureshi, a resident of Handwara, organized a candlelight vigil at his residence. Every year, the country celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26.
The country remembers our brave Indian soldiers who fought the war and those who were martyred while fighting for the nation.
On this day, the Kargil war was fought between Indian soldiers and Pakistani troops in Kargil, Jammu & Kashmir between May and July 1999.
The Kargil war lasted for 60 days ended with India bouncing back by taking control of the territories held by Pakistan. Even after 22 years we still remember the valour of our Indian soldiers who laid their lives for the country. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
