Jan Shikshan Sansthan Kupwara, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship celebrated International Women’s Day

Srinagar: Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) Kupwara under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship celebrated International Women’s Day with great fervour and enthusiasm with the theme of “Gender Equality today for Sustainable Tomorrow”. 

Hundreds of JSS beneficiaries’ meritorious students, trainers, master trainers and achievers attended the ceremony. JSS Kupwara in its unique way took out a women’s day road march with banners and slogans highlighting the importance of rights and duties towards women empowerment from JSS main office to Town Hall, Kupwara. 

The program was held at the Town Hall of Kupwara in presence of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Additional deputy commissioner Kupwara. President EJACK Kupwara, District employment officer Kupwara, Labour Commissioner Kupwara, college principals, BOM members JSS Kupwara, social activists, meritorious students, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, counsellors and scholars.

Program was varied in its nature with composition with a mixture of cultural programs, debates, question answer sessions, interaction with successful ladies, documentaries of achievers and a skill show. The chief guest Imam U Din the DC Kupwara praised the beneficiaries for their performance. More than 240 beneficiaries of IT, Nursing, Handicrafts, fashion designing, Chef, and beautician and electrician participated in the show. Several products were also displayed on the occasion. 

Deputy commissioner said that empowerment through skill speaks louder than words. Also, ADC Kupwara Gh Nabi Bhat had taken very long and interactive sessions with beneficiaries of various vocational skill trades, meritorious college students. He enlightened the need and importance of education with skill. 

He also mentioned that skilled women are a rich resource of livelihood and independence. College principal students and beneficiaries also spoke on gender equality and rights of a common woman. Different cultural events were performed on the occasion. Director JSS Kupwara Mohammad Iqbal briefed the guests and audience about the target specific and reliable role of JSS. 

He also urged the audiences to expand the message of skill empowerment and skill enhancement. He also highlighted the role of best trainers of the session, who had crossed all the odds and challenges. He also mentioned that JSS Kupwara is working with great enthusiasm with the concern of change & empowerment. 

He also said that hundreds of beneficiaries are getting benefitted through these vocational training courses.at the end of the day felicitation of pass out trainees, best achievers, meritorious students, success stories were conducted in presence of ADC Kupwara, President EJACK Kupwara, BOM members, heads of various departments and also oath ceremony of being dedicated and mature enough towards the rights and duties of women.
