Jalalabad Renamed Parshurampuri: Union Ministers Hail Move as Triumph for Sanatani Heritage

Lucknow: In a significant decision, the Home Ministry has approved the renaming of Jalalabad in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh to Parshurampuri, a move that has sparked celebrations among devotees of Lord Parshuram and Sanatani groups across the state. The Ministry conveyed its approval through an official letter to the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, stating that the Government of India has no objection to the name change.

Union Minister and Pilibhit MP Jitin Prasada welcomed the decision with gratitude, taking to X to thank Home Minister Amit Shah, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for their decisive role. Calling it a moment of pride for the Sanatani community, Prasada said the change brings honor and joy to devotees of Lord Parshuram.

He described himself as merely a facilitator in this “holy work,” made possible by divine blessings, and prayed for the well-being of the entire world. The renaming is seen by supporters as a symbolic assertion of cultural and religious heritage, aligning with broader efforts to restore historical and religious identities in the region.
