Ranchi: In a major counter-terrorism operation, security agencies on Wednesday arrested a suspected ISIS operative, identified as Ashar Danish, from Islamnagar in Ranchi. Danish, originally from Petwar in Bokaro district, had been on the radar of investigative agencies for a long time.
The arrest was carried out in a joint effort by the Delhi Police Special Cell, Jharkhand ATS, and Ranchi Police. Officials said Danish was wanted in connection with a case registered in Delhi. He is currently being interrogated to uncover possible links and networks.
On the same day, another suspected ISIS member, Aftab, was detained in Delhi. Both arrests come amid a larger crackdown by central agencies and state police units, who are conducting coordinated raids at more than 12 locations across multiple states.
