Inter school debate competition held at Jamia Islamia institute, Waripora

Srinagar: To provide a platform for the school students to showcase their talent and to enhance their self-confidence, the Indian Army camp at Bhagatpura organised an Inter School Debate Competition in collaboration with Centre for Research & Public Policy at Jamia Islamia Institute, Waripora. 

The topic of the debate was “Uniform Academic Calendar (Pros/Cons)” and “Democracy is the best Governance Model”.

The aim of debate competition was to develop the quality of public speaking and power of expression. The competition was to encourage participants to express their own opinion in a frank and candid manner.

A total of 300 students from different schools participated in the competition. The event was witnessed by many civilian guests which include Rafiq Ahmed, Principal BHSS, Bashir Khan Deputy Chairperson, Municipal Committee, Handwara. 

The winners were awarded with mementos. All participants were presented with distinction medals. The competition was inaugurated by Principal Boys Higher Secondary School Handwara, Rafiq Ahmed in the presence of Indian Army Officers, Principals, Teachers and other school staff. Chief guest thanked the efforts of the Indian Army for organising the event.
