In light of the intensifying situation in the Israel-Hamas conflict, the Indian government has issued an advisory urging its citizens in Israel to relocate to safer areas within the country. This recommendation comes amidst growing tensions and security concerns in the region.

The Embassy of India in Israel emphasized the importance of heeding local safety advisories, particularly for individuals residing or visiting border areas in the north and south of Israel. The embassy reassured that it is actively coordinating with Israeli authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of all Indian nationals in the country.

To provide further assistance and support, the embassy has established a 24×7 helpline number and email address for Indian citizens requiring guidance or assistance. Indian nationals in Israel can reach out to the embassy via the helpline number at +972-35226748 or through email at consl.telaviv@mea.gov.in.

Additionally, the embassy shared the hotline number of Israel’s Population and Immigration Authority for individuals seeking further assistance. The hotline number is 1700707889.

The advisory comes in the wake of a recent anti-tank missile strike near Israel’s northern border community of Margaliot, resulting in the tragic death of an Indian national and injuries to two others. The missile, launched from Lebanon by Hezbollah militants, struck an orchard in Israeli territory, highlighting the precarious security situation in the region.

The victim, Patnibin Maxwell, 30, hailing from Kollam in Kerala, lost his life in the attack. Two other individuals, Bush Joseph George (31) and Paul Melvin (28), sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment.

As tensions continue to escalate in the region, the Indian government remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens in Israel, urging them to remain vigilant and follow the guidance provided by local authorities and the embassy.

The situation underscores the importance of exercising caution and taking necessary precautions during this period of heightened uncertainty and instability in the region.
