A team of 15 determined mountaineers from the Indian Army has accomplished an extraordinary feat by successfully scaling Mount Harmukh, one of the highest peaks in the Kashmir Valley, from September 26 to September 30, 2023. This challenging expedition was undertaken by a team of elite soldiers from one of the Indian Army’s distinguished battalions to commemorate their Platinum Jubilee.
The mountaineers demonstrated unwavering resolve as they embarked on this daring journey to conquer the summit of Mount Harmukh, which stands majestically at an altitude of 5142 meters (16870 feet) above sea level. The arduous expedition, which commenced on September 26, tested the limits of human endurance and showcased the indomitable spirit of the Indian Army.
The expedition received a warm welcome and commendation from Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, GOC Chinar Corps, as it concluded at Kamakeri on October 3, 2023. Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai praised the mountaineering team for their exceptional dedication and successful completion of this challenging endeavor.
