Indian Army keeps alive decades old tradition, organises Iftaar Party for locals at Langate

Srinagar: The Indian Army while keeping its decades old tradition of hosting Iftaar parties for locals in Kashmir. The Indian Army camp Langate (30th Rashtriya Rifles) hosted a grand Iftaar party with locals in Langate town of district Kupwara.

An official said, during the Holy Month of Ramadan Indian Army in order to join in the celebration of the villagers during the festive month, organised a Iftar party with the people of Langate in which several villagers including DDC Chairman Kupwara Irfan Sultan Pandithpori, Chairman Showkat Hussain Pandith, DC, Mawar, Khurshid Ahmad Dar, DC Kralgund Bashir Ahmad, Municipal committee Langate Chairman, Mir Sadiq,VC.Jameel Rather, Mir Hafizula,SDPO Handwara,DSP Kralgund, DO Langate , senior citizens and youth attended the Iftaar party. The Islamic holy month of Ramadan is a time for Muslims all over the world to renew their focus on spiritual life and its practical application in daily life.

The Indian Army in a small way joined in their celebrations. The army conducted this event to bring harmony and increase the bond between army and locals, he added. Meanwhile, the locals appreciated the gesture and thanked the Langate army camp for the same
