Indian Army in collaboration with NGO, Plasma NCR and district administration organised multi-speciality mega medical camp at Krusan Lolab

Srinagar: The Indian Army has always been a front runner in providing a helping hand to any public initiative and community service. Continuing this tradition, the Indian Army in collaboration with the NGO, Plasma NCR and district administration organised a mega medical camp at Krusan village of Kupwara district in Lolab valley of North Kashmir as a precursor event for upcoming Lolab Mela.

The main aim of the medical camp was to provide medical assistance to people living in the remote areas of Lolab valley and to spread awareness about various health related issues.

Over 1600 people attended a mega medical camp. The camp included free medical consultation for orthopaedic, paediatrics, gynaecology, oncology, dental and many other super speciality consultations apart from physiotherapy, ayurvedic treatment and nutrition advice at free of cost from a professional team of doctors.

The assessment included, blood sugar measurement, blood pressure measurement, Body Mass Index (BMI), oxygen saturation, flexibility testing, dressing and distribution of allopathic and ayurvedic medicines as per the prescription of the doctors. Leading super-specialist doctors drawn from various army hospitals, other government and private hospitals were pooled in for the day-long camp.

For the conduct of the mega medical camp, coordination and liaison with civil institutions such as NGO, Plasma NCR; SDH, Sogam and many other public and private hospitals was carried out.

Hundreds of people, especially ladies and children benefited from the medical camp. The doctors were assisted ably by the local youth to provide basic medical aid and care. They have also been covering all the villages to educate people on health, hygiene and anti-drug abuse. During the camp also, they educated people on these issues including Covid-19 precautions, drug abuse and healthy lifestyle. The medical camp was appreciated by all sections of the society.
