Indian Army in collaboration with Degree College Sogam organised a seminar on G 20 Summit 2023 and opportunities for Kashmir

Srinagar: “Vasudeva Kutumbakam”, the theme of G20 Summit 2023 which means, “One Earth, One Family, One Future”. This theme affirms the ‘Value of Life’ – human, animal, plant and microorganisms – and their interconnectedness on the planet Earth and in the wider universe.

Staying true to its theme, G20 Summit 2023 is being hosted by India and is going to cover important aspects such as education, finance, women empowerment, tourism, environment and climate suitability, culture, agriculture, sustainable development, energy transitions, disaster and risk reduction, digital economy, trade and investment, employment and health.   

The G20 Summit is going to open a surfeit of opportunities for India, especially Kashmir. The one-day seminar conducted by Degree College Sogam in collaboration with Indian Army was aimed to create awareness amongst the youth of Kashmir about G20 Summit, the opportunities & avenues which the Summit is going to open and instil in them a sense of responsibility for smooth conduct of G20.

The event was presided by Dr Sagar Dattatray Doifode, IAS, DC Kupwara, Co-presided by Col Anupam Hajela, Commanding Officer 28 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion and Co-hosted by Dr Shamim Ahmad Dar, Principal Govt Degree college, Sogam. The Guest of Honour for the event was Yougal Manhas, JKPS, SSP Kupwara.

Various subject experts and professors from different colleges and universities spoke at the event about relevant topics on G20 with emphasis on Kashmir. As per the students who attended, the informative seminar was an eye opener and one of its kind events which Lolab witnessed.

The enthusiasm and impact the seminar had on the youth of Lolab were evident by the array of questions and overwhelming participation by the students. Such initiatives and their success are testimony to the changing Kashmir and her gallop towards the meadows of development and a brighter future.
