Srinagar: A massive fire broke out in a house at Lone Moh, Radbugha on the afternoon of January 19. It was a double storey house made of bricks and wooden roof covered with CGI sheets, belonging to Nazir Ahmad Lone, resident of village Redbougha.

The 47 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion of the Indian Army assisted the fire services with help in terms of fire extinguisher, water and manpower. The 47 RR Bn and fire control service of 28 Amn Coy both jointly undertook damage control measures to bring fire under control in no time saved lives.

There was significant loss of property but no loss of life reported. The most probable cause of fire could be electrical short circuit, followed by LPG cylinder burst.
