New Delhi: India has strongly condemned the security breach during External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar’s visit to the United Kingdom, calling the actions of pro-Khalistan extremists “provocative and unacceptable.” The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) expressed deep concern over the incident and urged the UK government to fulfill its diplomatic obligations by ensuring the safety of Indian officials.

“We have seen the footage of a breach of security during the visit of EAM to the UK. We condemn the provocative activities of this small group of separatists and extremists. We deplore the misuse of democratic freedoms by such elements. We expect the host government in such cases to fully live up to their diplomatic obligations,” an MEA spokesperson said.

The security lapse occurred outside Chatham House in London, where Jaishankar was participating in a discussion on India’s foreign policy and global challenges. A group of pro-Khalistan demonstrators gathered outside the venue, waving flags, using loudspeakers, and chanting slogans in an attempt to disrupt the event.

This is not the first time pro-Khalistan extremists have staged disruptive protests in the UK. In January, similar groups stormed the Indian High Commission in London and attempted to block the screening of Kangana Ranaut’s film “Emergency” in Harrow.
