New Delhi: India on Monday issued a firm and unequivocal response to Pakistan’s accusation of Indian involvement in a deadly suicide attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, Balochistan, which claimed the lives of four children and injured several others.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal categorically denied the allegations, calling them “baseless” and “an attempt to deflect attention” from Pakistan’s own internal crises and its global reputation as a hub for terrorism.

“India rejects the baseless allegations made by Pakistan regarding Indian involvement with the incident in Khuzdar earlier today. India condoles the loss of lives in all such incidents. However, in order to divert attention from its reputation as the global epicenter of terrorism and to hide its own gross failings, it has become second nature for Pakistan to blame India for all its internal issues. This attempt to hoodwink the world is doomed to fail,” Jaiswal said in a statement.

India also extended condolences for the innocent lives lost in the attack, particularly the schoolchildren.

The terror strike, which took place on Wednesday morning, targeted a school bus carrying around 40 students to an army-run school in Khuzdar city. According to Pakistani media reports, a suspected suicide bomber detonated explosives near the vehicle, killing four students on the spot and injuring many others.
