New Delhi: India has firmly rejected Pakistan’s claim of destroying its S-400 air defence missile system, calling it completely baseless and false. The S-400, often referred to as India’s ‘Sudarshan Chakra’ by its armed forces, has proven to be a reliable and robust weapon in countering aerial threats, particularly after the recent Operation Sindoor.
In a statement released via an X post, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) said, “S-400 destroyed by Pakistan? Here’s the Truth! Claims circulating on social media about Pakistan destroying an Indian S-400 system are FAKE. Reports of any destruction or damage to the S-400 are completely baseless.”
The S-400 air defence system has served as a strong shield against various aerial threats, effectively neutralizing missile and drone attacks launched by Pakistan. This advanced system has played a critical role in ensuring the safety of Indian airspace amidst rising tensions.
The situation on the ground has been equally tense, with sources confirming that Indian forces launched retaliatory strikes on at least four Pakistani airbases early Saturday morning. These strikes came in response to a Pakistani attack on 26 Indian locations. The sources further revealed that intermittent firing continues along the Line of Control (LoC), signaling an ongoing escalation of hostilities between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
In the aftermath of these strikes, reports also mentioned the presence of multiple Indian drones flying over key Pakistani cities such as Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sialkot, and Peshawar. These drones are said to be monitoring the situation and ensuring the strategic interests of India are safeguarded.
The recent spate of attacks comes on the heels of heightened concerns over Pakistan’s Fatah-II missile, which has a range of approximately 400 kilometers and can precisely target advanced systems like the S-400. The missile’s warhead weighs 365 kilograms, making it a formidable weapon capable of striking with pinpoint accuracy.
The Ministry of Defence of India issued a statement providing details of drone activity along the International Border and LoC. The statement reported that drones have been sighted at 26 locations, some of which are suspected to be armed. One drone attack in Ferozpur targeted a civilian area, resulting in injuries to a local family. Authorities have assured that medical assistance was provided and the area has been secured.
The Ministry of Defence has advised citizens, particularly in border regions, to remain vigilant and adhere to safety guidelines. While there is no need to panic, the situation continues to be monitored closely with proactive measures in place to neutralize any threats.
