Rahul Gandhi Blames BJP Over Uttam Nagar Violence, Appeals for Peace

Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party, accusing it of fuelling communal tensions in Delhi following the Uttam Nagar violence. He urged citizens not to fall for provocation and to maintain peace.

Rahul Gandhi’s Strong Reaction

Taking to social media, Gandhi expressed concern over the incident, stating that ordinary people have suffered the most. Referring to the death of Tarun, he said the violence had claimed a life while another family is facing severe distress.
He alleged that such incidents are being used to create division, claiming that forces linked to the BJP thrive on unrest and communal tension.

Links Issue to Bigger Political Narrative

Gandhi also connected the violence to larger national issues, alleging that such tensions are being created to divert attention from key concerns like defence, energy, and economic policies. He claimed the government wants people to remain distracted by communal conflicts instead of questioning major decisions.

Appeal for Peace and Unity

Calling for calm, Gandhi appealed to the residents of Delhi to avoid reacting to provocations. He stressed that the country’s strength lies in unity, brotherhood, and mutual respect, urging people to stand together during sensitive times.

Court Steps In Ahead of Eid

Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court has taken note of the situation and listed petitions seeking enhanced police security in Uttam Nagar ahead of Eid. The pleas highlight fears of possible unrest and call for preventive measures to maintain law and order.

How the Violence Started

According to police, the incident dates back to March 4, when a minor dispute during Holi celebrations reportedly escalated into a violent clash. The situation turned serious when Tarun was allegedly assaulted and later succumbed to his injuries.

Tension Remains High

With concerns over potential unrest during upcoming festivals, authorities are under pressure to ensure peace in the area. The developments have once again brought the issue of communal harmony in the national capital into sharp focus.

As political blame games intensify, all eyes are now on how authorities handle the situation and prevent further escalation in the coming days.
