Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao has strongly rejected allegations of any illegal or unethical conduct, asserting that he has been the target of a sustained smear campaign for several years. Speaking publicly, the senior leader said he is ready to cooperate with the ongoing inquiry related to the alleged phone tapping case and intends to question the basis of the accusations.
KT Rama Rao stated that for the last seven to eight years, repeated attempts have been made to damage his reputation through what he described as deliberate character assassination. He alleged that false narratives were circulated to link him with drug-related cases and baseless personal allegations, which caused immense mental stress not only to him but also to his family, including his children.
Despite what he termed prolonged harassment, Rama Rao said he remained undeterred and continued his public life without fear. Addressing the recent summons issued to him in connection with the phone tapping investigation, he said he would appear before the authorities and fully engage in the process.
The BRS leader emphasized that he would use the opportunity to seek clarity on what mistakes, if any, were committed by the previous government and where the system allegedly failed. He also raised questions over repeated leaks of information related to the case, claiming that selective disclosures over the past two years appeared to be part of a calculated effort to malign him continuously.
