Hyderabad: Telugu superstar Allu Arjun may face legal trouble as the Hyderabad police are reportedly set to challenge his interim bail in the High Court on Tuesday. The move follows allegations that the “Pushpa 2” actor violated court guidelines by holding a press conference.
According to sources, the police plan to present video evidence before the court to substantiate their claim. The controversy stems from an incident on December 4 during the screening of “Pushpa 2,” when a stampede led to the tragic death of a woman. Despite being asked to leave the theatre to ensure public safety, police officials allege that Arjun remained at the venue.
During a press briefing on Sunday, Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand presented a video documenting the chaos at the screening. “The video shows the circumstances that led to the unfortunate stampede. Despite repeated instructions, Allu Arjun did not comply, further aggravating the situation,” Anand said.
The police claim that Arjun’s actions violated the High Court’s conditions for his interim bail, which was granted earlier this month. His decision to address the media has also been deemed a breach of protocol.
Arjun has not yet responded to the latest developments, but his legal team is expected to argue his case. Fans of the superstar, whose portrayal of the rugged hero in “Pushpa 2” has garnered immense praise, are closely watching the situation unfold.
The High Court is expected to take up the petition later this week. Meanwhile, the incident has sparked debates about the responsibilities of public figures and the management of high-profile events to ensure public safety.
