Srinagar: In order to commemorate the Police martyr’s, Handwara Police inaugurated “Police martyrs Memorial Sports Festival” today at DPL Handwara under the banner of Police Flag Day-2021 in which Cricket, Volleyball, Kabaddi and other games will be played at District Police Lines Handwara ground and will continue till October 30.
The event was inaugurated by Superintendent of Police Handwara Sandeep Gupta (IPS), besides Deputy Superintendent of Police, DAR Handwara Ab Raqeeb Malik (JKPS) and other police officers and officials were also present at the event. Superintendent of Police Handwara on the event said that the tournament has been organized by Handwara Police in the memory of brave Jawans and officers of the force, who laid down their lives for the security, sovereignty and integrity of the Nation.
He further said that Police J&K always try to showcase the talent of sportsmen in all formats by providing them opportunity to participate in sports activities.
