The marathon was categorized into two age groups of those below 18 years and above 18 years.

The marathon started from GDC Handwara and culminated at the Main Market at Langate.  The event was organized to give a boost to the sports activities and channelize youth energy in a positive manner and to reaffirm the inherent strength of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity.

At the conclusion of the event, Handwara Police paid rich tributes to the police martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the peace and prosperity of the nation and also thanked the public for their active participation in honouring the Police Martyrs.
