Govt expands 21-day lockdown exempt list; transportation of all goods allowed

The central government has expanded the list of goods and services exempt from the 21-day nationwide lockdown. The Ministry of Home Affairs has written to the respective states with all details. The MHA also clarified that transportation of all goods will be allowed, without any distinction of essential and non-essential.

Enter supply chain of milk collection and distribution including its packaging material has now been allowed. Newspaper delivery supply chain has also been allowed.

The list of groceries has been expanded to include hygiene products such as handwash, soaps disinfectants, body wash shampoos surface cleaners, detergents and tissue paper, toothpaste, oral care, sanitary pads and diapers, battery cells, chargers. Services of Indian Red cross society have been been exempt and so have been pension and provident fund services provided by Employees Provident Fund Organisation.
