Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has asked insurance companies to give at least 50% of the claimed Insurance amount immediately to businessman, traders, shop keepers and citizens in flood affected districts of the state.
Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray written a letter to Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and urged her to direct Insurance companies to give atleast 50% of insurance amount to flood affected business man, shopkeepers and citizens and Also asked her to consider the Panchnama’s conducted by the revenue department to settle claims of insurance.
In a letter written to the union finance minister, Mr Thackeray explained that the incessant rains in july created havoc and there was huge loss to life and property and as such, people are waiting for insurance claim from the companies.
Chief Minister further said that insurance companies are ready to give 50% of the claims on the basis of Panchnama’s but, for this, insurance companies and IRDA are to be directed by the union government.
Chief minister further said that all the banks were directed to start their branches in flood hit regions and ready to give loans as working capital at the concessional interest rate.
