Srinagar: A free mega medical health check-up camp was organized on Saturday as part of the Civic Action Programme (CAP) and was conducted by the 162 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Boys Middle School, Mughalpora, Kupwara.
The camp was inaugurated by SSP Kupwara, Shobhit Saxena along with Commandant 162 Battalion CRPF Vinod Kumar and Second in command Rajiv Kumar, Assistant Commandant, Neeraj Kumar, Medical Officer Dr Ajay Kumar, Dr Javid Ahmad, and other officers graced the occasion by their presence.
Free medicines and medical checkup were provided to all villagers. During the medical camp a number of people including the ladies, children and senior citizens of the area gathered in large numbers for the health camp and more than 200 people took advantage of the camp.
Speaking on the occasion Commandant Vinod Kumar of 162 Battalion remarked “CRPF runs various schemes for assisting the needy and merging with the local population and for having better coordination with them. Today we have organised a free medical camp and consultancy for those who require medical assistance and you see a large number of people turned up in the programme”.
“The aim of such programmes is to have good relations with locals and also help them in difficult times. It’s a continuous process and 162 Battalion is periodically conducting community outreach programs in one or other way. In the past also such free medical camps were organised in different areas in Kupwara district”, added Vinod Kumar.
