Former MLA Krishna Hegde, Deputy Leader, and Spokesperson of Shiv Sena, has penned a letter to EOW Joint Commissioner Shri Nishith Mishra concerning Bliss Consultants, a case that has gained widespread attention.
The EOW has now taken charge of the case, which revolves around the mysterious disappearance of Ashesh and Shivangi Lad Mehta, who allegedly absconded with over Rs 1000 crores from more than 3000 investors across India.
Hegde, recognizing the gravity of the situation, had urgently requested the Mumbai Police (EOW) to step in regarding the Denron v/s Bliss versus Kotak case in both the Khed and Bombay High Courts. His request aimed at maintaining the freeze on the 160 crores lying within a Kotak bank account. This action is believed to provide much-needed relief to the thousands of affected investors.
Additionally, Hegde has meticulously outlined the properties owned by Ashesh and Shivangi Lad Mehta, proposing that freezing these assets could aid in recovering further funds.
The couple in question has remained untraceable for two months, while a case under the NDPS Act is pending against them in a Madhya Pradesh court.
Commending the prompt response of the Mumbai police, Hegde affirmed that the freezing of the couple’s accounts has been a direct outcome of their swift action. He expressed confidence that the Mumbai police will soon apprehend the couple and their associates who appear to have been aiding them despite an active lookout notice.
Highlighted in the ongoing investigation, Ashesh Mehta and Shivangi Lad Mehta have transferred more than 180 crores to close acquaintances and associates. Authorities intend to trace this financial trail to capture the culprits and potentially recover additional funds.
Notably, this couple stands accused of orchestrating an extensive money laundering scheme. Hegde has called for the police to consider invoking the PMLA Act against them as well.
Hegde has engaged with key figures in the political realm regarding this case. He met with Honorable Chief Minister Eknath Shinde ji, who directed Special Commissioner Deven Bharti to issue a lookout notice against the couple. Furthermore, Hegde apprised Honorable Deputy Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis ji about the intricate details of the case, seeking their attention to the matter.
