Mandsaur: A moment of panic gripped the Gandhi Sagar Forest Retreat on Saturday morning when visible flames were seen coming from a hot air balloon scheduled to be observed by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. A video of the incident quickly went viral on social media, showing the balloon’s burner ablaze and sparking fears of a serious accident.

Despite the alarming visuals, the Chief Minister was safely evacuated and remained unharmed. Eyewitnesses confirmed that while the flames were startling, they were quickly brought under control by the balloon crew, averting any potential danger. The Chief Minister appeared calm throughout, with his security personnel and local authorities ensuring his swift evacuation.

Mandsaur District Collector Aditi Garg later clarified that reports of a fire were misleading. She explained that CM Yadav had only come to observe the balloon and was not exposed to any unsafe conditions. The visible flames, she said, were part of the standard process of heating air to enable the balloon to lift.

Balloon pilot Mohammad Irfan, who has over seven years of experience, confirmed that the balloon uses LPG fuel and fireproof Kevlar materials, adhering fully to safety protocols.
