Mumbai: Maharashtra Government has announced that all the four agricultural universities in the state will offer fee concessions for undergraduate, post-graduate and doctorate students.
An official press statement released Wednesday said, state agriculture minister Dada Bhuse has said that the decision is likely to benefit about forty-five thousand students studying across 189 private or public colleges.
He added that students who have lost their parents or guardians in the COVID-19 pandemic will receive a full fees waiver. In a meeting with Vice Chancellors of all the universities, Bhuse said no student must be barred from attending lectures or appearing for exams for their inability to pay fees.
On the lines of concessions announced for non-agricultural universities, fees for dormitory, gymkhana, college magazine, computer charges, sports funds, medical aid funds and youth festivals will also be waived off for students of agricultural universities.
