Ketan Agarwal Murder Case: FDA Raids Siya Goyal’s Father’s Pune Shop, Seizes ₹8.14 Lakh Worth of Food Products

The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has seized food products worth over ₹8.14 lakh during an inspection at a Pune-based wholesale shop allegedly linked to the family of Siya Goyal, one of the accused in the Ketan Agarwal murder case. Officials, however, clarified that the action was taken over alleged food safety violations and has not been linked to the ongoing murder investigation.

FDA Finds Alleged Food Safety Violations

According to FDA officials, a team from Pune Zone-1 conducted an inspection on July 14 at M/s BG Goyal & Company, located in Pune’s Market Yard and owned by Pravin Goyal.

During the operation, authorities seized 4,172 kg of food products valued at ₹8,14,630 after detecting alleged irregularities, including operating a storage facility without the required licence, labelling violations and suspicion that some products could be substandard or unsafe.

Officials collected four samples for laboratory testing, including turmeric powder, sesame seeds and soya mini chunks, to determine whether they comply with food safety standards.

Food Samples Sent for Laboratory Examination

The seized stock included different batches of turmeric powder, sesame seeds and soya mini chunks. The samples will now undergo laboratory analysis before any further regulatory action is taken.

The raid was conducted by Food Safety Officers K.L. Sonkamble and Pratik Jadhav under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Nilesh Khose. Pune Zone operates under Joint Commissioner (Food) D.W. Bhogawade.
