New Delhi: In a significant development in the pursuit of justice for the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, Tahawwur Hussain Rana, one of the key accused, arrived in Delhi on a special flight on Thursday afternoon, around 2:45 PM. The 64-year-old, who was extradited from the United States, was flown from the US on a chartered flight that departed on April 9.
Upon arrival at Palam Airport, Rana was immediately transferred to the custody of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), which coordinated his extradition efforts with the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). This comes after the US Supreme Court rejected his final plea for an emergency stay on his extradition to India.
Rana, a Pakistan-born Canadian national, is closely linked to David Coleman Headley, another main conspirator in the attacks. Rana’s extradition is a crucial step toward bringing justice for the victims of the 26/11 attacks that claimed 166 lives and caused numerous injuries.
