Every One Can Be Super Saver to Fight against COVID 19: Dr Deepak Raut

Mumbai: In this time of COVID 19 upsurge in India, community members should come forward and become Super Saver, Dr. Deepak Raut, Director, National Institute of Public Health Training and Research, Mumbai made this appeal during the National Webinar on “Super Saver Training on COVID 19 Pandemic”. 

The Webinar was organized by the institute. Dr Muzaffar Ahamad, a Former member of the National Disaster Management Academy was a guest of honour.

National Institute of Public Health Training and Research, Mumbai, the central training institute under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India launched series of Webinar on “Super Saver Training on COVID 19 Pandemic” on 27 April 2021. then representatives active of Non-Government organization faith-Based Organizations, NSS, Volunteers participated in the Webinar.

On this occasion, Dr Muzaffar Ahmad said that, In this COVID 19 Pandemic, People should come forward to help the Corona patients, as the fear is increasing day by day. They should share correct information and knowledge with the community to give them moral support and empower them.

In the inaugural speech, Dr Deepak Raut further said that Coronavirus is spreading rapidly, hence in this time of crisis every individual must follow the Covid Appropriate Behaviours. It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that, the people around are practising the preventive measures. 

He also emphasized that now the government started mass vaccination campaign for all the adult above 18 years of age. Many people are not coming forward to accept the vaccination due to misconceptions. So we must encourage and motivate them to take vaccination by sharing the right information and these can be easily done by CBO, FBOs and volunteers.

Dr Deepak Raut further said that Super Saver should also guide the patients and their relative in following government guidelines to take care during Home Quarantine, Isolation and do a necessary referral for severe cases in the Covid Hospitals.

In this webinar Dr Suparna Khera of NIPHTR, Mumbai explained to the participants the current status of the COVD 19 and changing sign and symptoms of the infection due to a new mutant.

Mrs Rosy Joseph said that in many cases where the infection is mild, the patients can be very well treated at home only. She also elaborated on the concept of home isolation. She explained about the conditions when one should be taken to the hospitals etc.

The government has started the vaccination campaign. Now all the adult above the age of 18 will be able to get the vaccination, said Dr Sudhir Wanje. Further in his presentation, he explained how to register? What is the minor side effect? how they can be managed.

Sanjay Bhonge in his presentation said that everyone can be a super saver, by providing timely help and motivation to the community for the covid appropriate behaviours. On this occasion, the experts resolved the doubt raised by the participants during the webinar.

In a concluding remarks Dr Deepak Raut, Director, NIPHTR said that Super Saver can become Shaktiman to care and support, communities to fight against COVID – 19 Pandemic in Communities.
