Colombo:
External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar wrapped up his short visit to Sri Lanka where he called on new President Gotabaya Rajapksa, Prime minister Ranil Wickremsinghe and leader of opposition Mahinda Rajapaksa. The new Sri Lankan President will visit India on 29th of this month on his fist overseas visit after assuming the post.
Dr. Jaishankar delivered a special congratulatory message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to new President which called for partnership for shared peace, progress, prosperity and security. The minister expressed confidence that India Sri Lanka relations will reach new heights under the leadership of new President. He had arrived in Colombo last evening and left this morning. (Agencies)
