Drone donated for vaccination in tribal areas by Rotary

First successful experiment in Palghar district of Maharashtra

Mumbai: DRONAGIRI , the Drone Project was flagged off after a long wait by Addl.Chief Sec. for Health, Dr. Pradeep Vyas ,IIFL Foundation chairperson our sponsors Mrs Madhu Nirmal Jain and Dist. Gov. Rajendra Agarwal along with host of local civic authorities.

The initial run was from Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Jawahar to  Zaap a 70 Mins road route  which took  9:30mins by DRONE. Thuniqueness of this Drone is its payload capacity of 5kg and also that it can go to about 25 to 30Kms at a stretch and hybride and completely  indigenous ( make in India).

Mrs. Suman R  Agarwal,well-known Women’s Rights Activist & Rotarian said that transporting vaccines in the conventional way would be lesser quatam due to connectivity issues and facilities to store, but via this Drone about 150 to 200 vials will be easily transported in a day to 11 villages assigned to us. This was 1 st project carried out successfully in state of Maharashtra. Further the drone will be used for other emergency services for transporting blood, emergency medicines and organs. This project was a huge success.
