Mumbai: Launching a scathing attack on the Modi Government for its “anti-labour and anti-farmer policies” Mumbai Regional Congress Committee (MRCC) chief and former MP Eknath Gaikwad on Monday gave a stern warning against “messing up with Mumbai.” “The industries and institutions of Mumbai are being taken away to Gujarat. We will not allow Modi government to succeed in its intentions to reduce the importance of Mumbai. Mumbai is ours. Do not mess with it,” warned Gaikwad.

The MRCC launched a signature campaign on Sunday at Chembur. The campaign was launched by MRCC office bearers Rajesh Thakkar, Shivkumar Lad, District President Hukumraj Mehta and Taluka President Nilesh Nanche, states an MRCC press release issued here on Tuesday.

He further said that, ‘Modi government is a loose government. The decisions they make are only for the benefit of the industrialists. No wonder, their new laws will destroy the peasantry and the working class. The rural economy is being controlled by the capitalists who will lead to famine in the country. Looting will begin. That is why the Congress has launched a “signature campaign” against it. We will send lakhs of signatures to the Modi government and force it to withdraw these harsh laws, ’said Eknath Gaikwad.
