Director at AIIMS in New Delhi, Dr Randeep Guleria has said that taking steroids in the initial five days in cases of mild COVID infection can be harmful and it should be taken in moderate illness.
Dr Guleria advised that taking steroids at an early stage of the disease can further replicate the virus. He also said, high dosage of steroids in mild COVID cases may lead to severe viral pneumonia.
