A dhok (seasonal shelter) collapse in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district led to the death of several livestock, officials said.

According to reports, the incident occurred on the evening of April 29, 2026, near Narayan Nag in the Ganderbal area of Central Kashmir. A resident from Chowkibal alerted authorities after the structure gave way.

The collapse resulted in the death of multiple goats and sheep, while a few animals sustained injuries. The livestock belonged to Gami Bijran, a resident of Sundarbani. No human casualties were reported.

Personnel from the Indian Army, stationed at COB Wangat, reached the site soon after receiving the information and extended immediate assistance, including support for the affected animals.
