Rahul Gandhi has once against targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over demonetization. On Sunday, the Congress leader took to his Twitter account and posted a video message, “Demonetisation was PM’s well-thought-out scheme so that he could waive the loans of his capitalist friends from the money deposited by the common public”, said Rahul Gandhi.
He also cited the recent report of Bangladesh surpassing India in terms of per capita income and said this did not happen in one day but the downfall of Indian economy began with demonetisation.
The Wayanad MP also referred to GST and said its flawed implementation has benefitted big corporates.
On November 8, 2016, Prime Minister Modi announced the decision to ban all currency notes of higher denomination of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 from midnight.
AICC general secretary KC Venugopal said state Congress units would hold press conferences in all state headquarters “to highlight the suffering of people” due to the note-ban decision.
“On the 4th anniversary of Modi Govt’s disastrous decision of demonetisation, Congress will observe tomorrow, 8th Nov as ‘Viswasghaat Diwas’.
“PCCs will hold PCs at State HQs to highlight the agonies and the sufferings of millions of Indians facing even today,” Venugopal said on Twitter.
