New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced early morning operations on August 15 to ensure smooth travel for those attending the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort.
On Friday, metro services across all lines will begin at 4:00 AM from terminal stations. Between 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM, trains will run at 30-minute intervals, after which the regular daily schedule will take effect.
The stations Lal Quila, Jama Masjid, and Delhi Gate remain the closest access points to the Red Fort, where the Prime Minister will address the nation.
The DMRC has also made special provisions for individuals holding official invitation cards issued by the Ministry of Defence. These invitees will be provided with special QR tickets for travel to and from the ceremony venue. The cost of such travel will be reimbursed to the DMRC by the ministry.
This early start aims to facilitate special guests, dignitaries, and the general public, helping them avoid congestion and reach the event in time for the proceedings.
