New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta conducted an inspection of Shalimar Bagh on Thursday (March 6), personally assessing the condition of drinking water, sanitation, and roads in her constituency. The CM visited several key locations, including Shalimar Village Chowk, Max Road, and Haiderpur Village Chowk, where she interacted with residents and directed officials to resolve their grievances promptly.
Addressing the media after her visit, CM Gupta highlighted the persistent issues faced by locals. “People here are upset due to the sewage, the drains are still not built… The work that had to be done in the industrial area is still pending. Small market complexes are facing the same problem, and sanitation issues persist in large market areas. The previous government merely advertised people’s pain, but I am here to solve their problems,” she asserted.
Taking to social media, CM Gupta reaffirmed her commitment to addressing these civic concerns. “Along with officials, I visited several areas in Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency to assess water, sanitation, and road conditions. Based on residents’ feedback, I have directed officials to ensure a quick resolution. Our aim is to provide all basic facilities to every citizen of Delhi. #ViksitDelhi,” she wrote on X.
Beyond infrastructure, CM Gupta also focused on citizen engagement ahead of the upcoming ‘Viksit Delhi Budget 2025’. On Wednesday, she held two key interactive sessions—one with women from diverse sectors and another with educationists and school principals—to gather suggestions for the state budget. Emphasizing a people-centric approach, she stated, “This budget will be the budget of the people of Delhi.”
