In a span of two days two young Police Naik’s lost their battle to coronavirus

Navi Mumbai: The death of two young policemen in Navi Mumbai due to the deadly Coronavirus in a span of just two days has sent shock waves among the police force in the satellite city. The Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Bipin Kumar Singh said that the death of two Police Naik’s in just two days’ interval is really a matter of great concern.
On 6th September, 2020 Sandesh Naik (39) a young Police Naik who was posted at Panvel City traffic branch passed away losing his battle with Corona and on 7th September, 2020 Police Naik Ravindra Patil (52) who was posted at Navi Mumbai Police Headquarters lost the battle to the deadly Coronavirus.
Speaking with this Correspondent the Navi Mumbai Police Chief Bipin Kumar Singh said, “Soon after taking the responsibility as NM Police Chief I went to the Covid Care Centre ‘Nivara’ at Kalamboli where the police personnel are admitted for the Covid-19 treatment. I inquired about the health of the police staff admitted there. I went there on 4th of September, 2020 and on 6th September, 2020 the news of demise of young Police Naik Sandesh Gaikwad who was just 39 years old came to us. We were yet to come out of the shock of the sad news of Gaikwad demise we came to know about Ravindra Patil’s death on 7th September, 2020. Death of young police men due to the coronavirus is a matter of concern and we need to seriously look into it. In this hour of grief our police force stands with the family of both the police men who lost their life fighting the battle with coronavirus.”
Taking to twitter replying to the Navi Mumbai Police tweet one respondent wrote, “Please provide adequate financial support to the family of our martyred corona warriors cc @CMOMaharashtra.”
Former Commissioner of Navi Mumbai who is getting himself treated at MGM Hospital, Vashi for Covid-19 taking to twitter wrote, “My heartfelt condolences. Very sad.”
Prabhat Singh tweeted, “Seriously it’s hurting us. Our saviors are losing their lives. We are also responsible for this loss. Police personnel can’t stop everyone individually. We should follow their instructions.”
The Navi Mumbai Police from their twitter account handle wrote, “Police Naik Sandesh Gaikwad (39) and Ravindra Patil (52) posted at Panvel City Traffic Branch and Navi Mumbai Police Headquarter respectively passed away while fighting with corona.
