Cops investigating alleged suicide by Sushant Singh Rajput wants to understand the cause of depression to the actor in attempt are also probing professional rivalry in Bollywood.
Mumbai: The Mumbai Police has sent a letter to Yash Raj Films, seeking details of the contracts it had signed with the late actor Rajput, said an official. Currently Mumbai Police is probing the case of alleged suicide by Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The actor allegedly committed suicide on June 14 at his rented apartment in Bandra (West).
“There are various angles probed, including that of professional rivalry also as he was clinically depressed allegedly due to possibly professional reasons. Thus the copy of contract is asked to study minute details between the actor Rajput and YR Films, “said the official.
The Bandra Police is investigating the reason of depression to Sushant Singh Rajput. The cop’s suspect that might have triggered him to take such an extreme step. So far, the police have recorded statement of 13 people, including Rajput’s family members and close friends like actor Rhea Chakraborty and casting director Mukesh Chhabra.
A senior officer said,” As a part of professional rivalry to understand the cause, police has sent a letter to Yash Raj Film, seeking details of all the contracts it had signed with Rajput. The copies of the contracts have been asked for by the investigators.”
The cops in next move, will record statement of involved people in who had played role in signing copy of contract between the actor and production house.
Rajput had worked in various projects under the banner of Yash Raj Film. The series of the movies include -”Shuddh Desi Romance” (2013) directed by Maneesh Sharma and Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!” (2015) directed by Dibakar Banerjee and another film planned with the banner was supposed to be “Paani”, directed by Shekhar Kapur. However, YRF had reportedly backed out of the project later.
