As the Lok Sabha Election 2024 draws near, tensions rise within the Mahayuti alliance as seat allocations remain unresolved. Reports emerge of dissatisfaction within Shinde’s Shiv Sena faction, a key member of the Grand Alliance. Supporters of Hemant Patil from Hingoli are set to embark on a journey to Mumbai today, demanding the retention of Patil’s candidature. Accompanied by a convoy of 250 to 300 cars, these supporters aim to meet Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to voice their concerns. The discontent spans across three districts, namely Hingoli, Yavatmal-Washim, and Nanded.
Reacting to these developments, Shiv Sena Shinde group MLA Santosh Bangar stated to ABP, “When the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister approached me regarding contesting the Lok Sabha elections, I expressed my contentment with my current position in the Assembly. The decision made by Honorable Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is acceptable to all Shiv Sainiks.” Bangar emphasized the importance of following the party’s directives, regardless of individual preferences.
Regarding the BJP’s discontent, Bangar commented, “The BJP expressed interest in the nomination, expecting Shiv Sena to vacate the seat. However, Amit Shah assured that the seat would remain with Shiv Sena, fulfilling his promise. It’s natural for such discontent to arise until the official nomination is announced.” Bangar reiterated the commitment of Shiv Sena and BJP alliance members to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Bangar reaffirmed his loyalty to the party, stating, “As a dedicated Shiv Sainik, I will abide by the directives of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. There is no animosity from the BJP; they have assured compliance with our orders.” He further mentioned discussions with Deputy Chief Minister in Nanded, where it was reiterated that the party’s decision would be final and adhered to.
Regarding the candidacy of Hemant Patil Baburao Kadam, Bangar stated, “The party will determine the candidate, and as per current indications, the candidacy has been finalized. Any alterations will be made to strengthen the party’s position.”
