Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday stated that the Maha Kumbh will contribute over ₹3 lakh crore to the state’s economy, highlighting its massive economic impact.
While responding to a question from Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Ragini Sonkar in the UP Assembly, the CM also emphasized his government’s success in lifting over 8 crore people out of poverty in the last eight years.
“Under PM Modi’s leadership, India has brought 25 crore people above the poverty line in the last 10 years. In Uttar Pradesh alone, our government has helped more than 6 crore people escape poverty. This transformation is visible in every sector,” Adityanath said.
Highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s growing global recognition, he added, “The world is witnessing UP’s potential, and the Maha Kumbh is set to drive an economic boost of over ₹3 lakh crore in the state.”
Taking a swipe at the Samajwadi Party, he remarked, “I understand your pain because when your leaders claim that India can never become a developed country, you are forced to support them.”
