Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, while attending a state-organized Iftar party in Vijayawada on Thursday, reaffirmed his government’s commitment to protecting Waqf properties and uplifting the Muslim community. Extending his Ramzan greetings, he assured that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government had always prioritized the safeguarding of Waqf lands and would continue to do so.
Addressing concerns over government order GO 43, which had previously led to the Waqf Board becoming non-functional due to legal complications, Naidu stated that his government had taken immediate steps to resolve the issue. “When GO 43 was introduced, unnecessary controversy arose. When the matter reached the courts, the Waqf Board’s operations were disrupted. As soon as our government took charge, we revoked the order and reconstituted the board, ensuring the protection of Waqf properties,” he said.
Naidu also highlighted his administration’s focus on the economic empowerment of the Muslim community, emphasizing substantial budget allocations and targeted welfare schemes. “Justice has been done to the Muslim community during the TDP term, and they will be better off under the NDA rule now,” he stated.
He further announced that the Andhra Pradesh government has allocated ₹5,300 crore in the 2025-26 budget for the development of minority communities. This funding, he said, would support various initiatives aimed at education, employment, and social welfare, reaffirming his commitment to fostering inclusive growth.
