Sunil Chordia of Rajratan Group elected Deputy Chairman, CII Western Region for 2021-22

Mumbai: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has elected its new office bearers of its Western Region. B Thiagarajan, Managing Director, Blue Star Limited has been elected as the Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Western Region for the year 2021-22 while Sunil Chordia, Chairman & Managing Director, Rajratan Group has been elected as the Deputy Chairman of the CII Western Region for the year 2021-22.
Their names were announced at the first meeting of the reconstituted Western Regional Council held Wednesday.
The major focus areas for the Western Region are – Growth through Atmanirbhar Bharat, Industry 4.0, Sustainability, Rural-Urban Connect, Skilling, Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG).
B Thiagarajan is Managing Director, Blue Star Ltd., is a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics from Madurai University. He has also completed the Senior Executive Program of London Business School (LBS). He has around four decades of experience, having worked for reputed companies such as Larsen & Toubro Ltd, BPL Systems Ltd and Voltas Ltd, prior to joining Blue Star in 1998.
Sunil Chordia is Chairman and Managing Director, Rajratan Group. Rajratan is India’s leading Tire Bead Wire manufacturer, Asia’s second largest and globally amongst the Top-5 – catering to almost every major tire manufacturer across the globe – in Asia, Americas and Europe. In 2008, he set up his second factory in Thailand – making his factory the only bead wire manufacturer in the country.
