Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis directs officials to complete the Panchnama in three days

Akola:

The unseasonal rains in October have completely damaged cotton, soybeans and sorghum crops. With the crops due for harvesting having been lost  the peasantry has come under the shadow of despair. Therefore, in order to re-establish the farmers, the administration must work sensitively while conducting the Panchnama. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday directed the authorities to complete the panchnama in three days (till November 6) so that the farmers to get immediate help. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis gave the orders while making a field visit to Myspur Fata in Akola district

The Chief Minister stated that about 100 percent of the crop loss was caused by the monsoon in October. Cotton, soybeans and sorghum have been lost by the farmers. Therefore, Rs 10,000 crore provision has been made to help the farmers. The administration should recognize the seriousness of the situation and take immediate action of the Panchanama. In order to handle the Panchnamas, manpower from other departments and agricultural universities should be utilized, states the press release issued here by the government.

Fadnavis stated that the scope of the crop damage is the large this time. Therefore, the help provided by the government will also be big. All the assistance during the drought period will be provided to all the farmers during the wet drought. The crop insurance will be the basis of the crop damaged during the unseasonal rains. Insurance Companies should not insist on receipt of insurance when offering crop insurance benefits. The application form for the help of crop insurance should be filled out in the village itself.

Representatives of the crop insurance companies have been instructed to accept the patches made by the governing bodies in case they are unable to reach the damages panel. In order to facilitate speedy disbursal of crop insurance, the administration and insurance companies  must work in coordination. The photo of the crop damage produced by the farmers will also be considered as evidence to help.

To assist the farmers, the officers and staff should work outside the jurisdiction to provide comfort. The departmental commissioner, district collector should inform the concerned apparatus that farmers should not face any recovery notices. Helpline should be set up so that farmers can get easy help, get all the information in one place.

This is going to be the biggest help so far. The system must work outside the jurisdiction to allow the right persons to avail this assistance. Farmers will be helped in all the ways possible. The farmers cannot expect any income from the lost Kharif crop. Last month’s rains have brought abundant water availability. Because of this, farmers will now turn to Rabbi crops. The Chief Minister also directed the authorities to make available seeds of crops like gram and wheat for the Rabbi season.
