Through the efforts of Skill Employment Entrepreneurship and Innovation Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, the Mahayuti Government took another important step towards a skill-rich Maharashtra. The “Pramod Mahajan Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Abhiyan” will be implemented through the Skill Development Society to enhance employability for individuals in the age group of 15 to 45. This initiative will establish skill development centers in 100 colleges across Maharashtra.

It was Cabinet Minister Lodha’s objective that skill development should be concentrated in rural areas. Accordingly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 511 Skill Development Centers simultaneously for the first time in India. Similarly, with the 100 skill development centers that will be launched in the coming new year as well, creating a skilled generation of Maharashtra will be done at a faster pace.It will be up to the individual colleges to select the courses required for employment through these centers and these courses will be aligned with the National Skill Qualification Framework. For this, the training fee will be given as per the Common Cost Norms fixed by the Central Government.

Skill development training holds the potential to transform the lives of India’s youth and is a key driver for the country’s development. To achieve this, the establishment of skill centers and the strategic direction of youth towards skill training are crucial steps to ensure their readiness for employment and contribute significantly to India’s growth.
