Srinagar: The 57th Raising day of Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday, December 1, was celebrated by the 172 battalion of the BSF at Trehgam, Kupwara. The battalion reached out to the BSF retirees and families of BSF martyrs and invited them to the Bara Khana as guests.
C K Upadhyay, Commandant 172 Bn BSF honoured Shaheen Begum wife of martyr C T Reyaz Ahmad Sheikh and the retirees by presenting shawls.
Officials From civil administration also joined the celebrations. Also, School children of the nearby Schools were especially invited to the 172 Bn BSF Campus Trehgam wherein an exhibition of modern weapons, equipment’s and a dog show was also organized.
The children got to know the functioning of the BSF and how the BSF is associated with the well-being of the local population wherever it is deployed.
The programme was thoroughly enjoyed by the school children. This outreach programme organised by the 172 Bn the 172 Bn got much appreciation from the local population and the authorities.
