Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has replied to the letter of the Bihar police written. BMC in a way has rejected the request of the Bihar police of exemption of isolation of the IPS officer Vinay Tiwari who was sent in isolation till August 15.
Bihar Police chief on Monday wrote a letter to the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) requesting exemption of the isolation of Vinay Tiwari as he is an IPS officer and had gone to Mumbai to investigate the suicide mystery of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
Earlier a team four officers of Bihar police has went to Mumbai to investigate the incident. To lead the team Patna city SP, Vinay Tiwari had went to Mumbai on August 2 but he is forcibly put in isolation till August 15.
Replying to the letter of the Bihar police, the BMC (BMC) on Tuesday wrote a letter to the Bihar police. In the letter it was said “In a view of prevailing Coronavirus Pandemic situation in Bihar, in order to ensure that the officer from Bihar not transmit the virus to other officials he meet. so it is advised that the officer can conduct his proceedings with various concerned officials of the government of Maharashtra on digital platforms via Google Meet, Jio meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams or other such digital platforms to interact”, said in the letter by Additional Municipal Commissioner, P Velrasu.
Further it was mentioned, in view of coronavirus pandemic prevalent in Bihar, he does not gets infected by corona virus during his physical visits to various officials of the Government of Maharashtra in Mumbai. However, the officer has to be in compliance with the rules and regulations prevailing in the state of Maharashtra.
In a letter to the BMC Commissioner, the IG of Patna Police has said that SP Vinay has been in Mumbai to guide the special police team that went to investigate. In such a case, they should not be put in isolation. The IG of Bihar has sent a letter to the BMC Commissioner citing a rule that under it BMC officer can exempt domestic passenger Vinay Tiwari from being in isolation.
The Patna IG had written a letter to the Chief of BMC opposing the quarantine of IPS Vinay Tiwari and requested that he be released, which has been rejected. The BMC has sent a reply to the letter to Patna Police. Now, our SP Vinay Tiwari will be locked inside for 14 days. This decision of BMC is unfortunate!” DGP Pandey tweets.
