In a strategic move to consolidate its electoral prospects ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is convening a two-day national convention meeting at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi on February 17-18. With an anticipated attendance of over 11,000 members, this gathering is poised to host leaders representing all echelons of the party.

The inaugural day, February 17, will witness a meeting of the BJP’s national leaders, possibly graced by the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself. Setting ambitious targets, PM Modi has articulated a goal of securing 370 seats for the BJP and over 400 seats for the NDA alliance in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls. The session will culminate with PM Modi’s address on February 18, signaling a significant moment in the party’s electoral strategy.

Key agendas for discussion during the convention include critical proposals touching upon issues such as the Ram temple, women’s reservation, agricultural initiatives, and youth welfare. The convention’s proceedings are scheduled to kick off with an address by BJP President JP Nadda at 3 pm on Saturday.

Beyond its political agenda, the convention will delve into economic and social welfare proposals, emphasizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Developed India.’ An exhibition inaugurated by JP Nadda ahead of the convention, themed ‘Developed India,’ underscores the government’s commitment to national progress and people-centric governance.

Highlighting the democratic ethos of the BJP, senior leader Ravi Shankar Prasad emphasized the party’s commitment to organizational transparency and efficiency. As discussions unfold during the convention, BJP leaders will articulate their vision for the upcoming elections and outline a blueprint for India’s development trajectory leading up to 2047.
